On April 3, 2025, it was that time again: Girls’ Day at H. & J. Brüggen KG in Lübeck! Schoolgirls from Lübeck, Hamburg and the surrounding area were our guests and got exciting insights into the world of milling and production.

Girls’ Day at Brüggen is not just about listening, but also about running, observing and discovering.
From the miller’s trade to modern production: the girls walked through corridors, up stairs, into large halls – and in the middle of it all, they gained a wealth of impressions.

After arriving and a short, warm welcome and introduction, the participants were introduced to the day’s schedule.
The focus was on practical experience: during a tour of the mill, the girls learned about the key production steps and were able to try out some of the stations themselves – including tasting various products and playing a grain guessing game. The girls were reserved. But sometimes the future begins just like that – quietly, attentively and openly.
Afterwards, there was a company presentation with insights into oat processing and the importance of the mill in the food industry. During lunch together, there was a lot of sharing, laughing and asking – before the day ended with a small souvenir and lots of new impressions.

Girls’ Day at Brüggen was a huge success – informative, practical and inspiring!
